What is our purpose?

What is the purpose of mankind? I feel as though every human being asks this question in their heart. Why am I here? What is the point? What am I working towards? The fact is that the purpose that we have is so beyond glorious, yet many even christians don't know what their purpose is. It is simple. We were created by God and for God. (Colossians 1:16) It is not that God is in need of our love or affection, but He enjoys the Trinity so much that He wanted to invited his creation into it as well. God on His own is perfectly satisfied. This is the first thing we must know. But secondly, He delights in revealing himself to us and bringing us pleasure. When we enjoy his pleasure and presence His name is glorified.  This brings us back to the original purpose of mankind; to know God, to be known by Him and to glorify Him in that place.

  1. Hello Katie, so good to know you through your profile on the blogger. I am also glad to stop by your blog " Looking through the eyes of the Savior" and the post on it of dated 30th August "What is our purpose". Very encouraging and revealing the truth about the very purpose of our life. Thank you for sharing it. I am glad to know that you are with YWAM in Uganda. Well about me, I am in the Pastoral ministry for last 33yrs in the great city of Mumbai, India a city with great contrast where richest of rich and the poorest of poor live. We reach out to the poorest of poor to bring healing to the broken hearted and to give them new life, purpose, futue and hope. We also encourage young people as well as adults to come to Mumbai on a short term missions trip to work with us in the slums of Mumbai by being hands and feet of Jesus. We would love to have you come after your Uganda Mission to come and work with us in the slums as well as with our church youth group in the church. We have had many YWAM Teams coming to Mumbai and working with us. My email id is: dhwankhede(at)gmail(dot)com and my name is Diwakar Wankhede. Looking forward to hear from you.
